TK/JK Information


Junior Kindergarten or Transitional (and Traditional) Kindergarten Student:

  • preschool (CHDP) physical is not required for school entry/enrollment.
  • Up to date immunizations are required for both Junior and Transitional Kindergarten students.
  • An Oral Health Assessment is required for both Junior and Transitional Kindergarten students.
  • All other requested information (i.e., birth certificate, utility bill, etc.) must be provided prior to enrollment. 
  • A Health physical will be required prior to entering Junior and Traditional Kindergarten; the physical should not be dated more than six months prior to the start of Junior or Traditional Kindergarten (Transitional Kindergarten students should have their health physical dated not more than six months prior to the start of Traditional Kindergarten).


  • School of Choice forms need to be filled out and are available at school offices during the open enrollment window during the month of February - All Jr. and Transitional S.O.C. forms should be turned in to the home/neighborhood school.  Once the S.O.C. form is accepted:
  • Enrollment forms must be turned in to the home school. Placement determined by need  prior to the start of school in the fall.  Magnet classes arecurrently located at Berylwood, Madera, Township and White Oak Elementary Schools.
  • Other locations will be determined by need.
  • Daily Schedules will be the same as each school’s traditional kindergarten classroom instructional hours.
  • Transportation must be provided by parents.
  • Before/After school care is available through the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District (584-4400) and the YMCA(583-5338).
